We are looking for an experienced debt caseworker to join our successful Legal Help Team (we have a contract for debt, welfare benefits and housing).  The successful candidate should have recent experience of managing a caseload and have an up to date knowledge of money advice practice and legislation.   

We are looking for someone who is well motivated and able to communicate and negotiate effectively with a wide range of people. The ability to work under pressure and maintain targets is essential.  You will be based in Bootle but may also be expected to travel to outreach locations or other Bureau sites as required within the district of Sefton.  (Merseyside)

Money Adviser

All too often, people in serious debt can feel like there's nowhere to turn. That's why National Debtline, a national charity and part of the Money Advice Trust, was established in 1987 to offer FREE money advice. We are supported by government and the private sector - and today we're growing faster than ever.

Trainee Adviser £18,787
Experienced Adviser £25,535 + 9% non-contributory pension + 28 days holiday.

As one of our advisers, you will help people in debt gain control of their financial situation - taking the time to understand the issues they face, delivering specialist advice and support.

Where appropriate, you will follow up initial support with detailed written communication, so you will need exceptional attention to detail and strong research skills, as well as an engaging and sympathetic personality.

As a Trainee, you will ideally bring outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to investigate clients' circumstances sensitively, enabling you to enjoy the full salary of £25,535 after nine months of training.

To join us as an Experienced Money Adviser, you will need experience of delivering detailed money advice and broad knowledge of the Consumer Credit Act and County Court procedures.

Team Managers £28,027.80 (plus an unsocial hours payment of £2,437.20 payable when shifts commence) + 9% non-contributory pension + 28 days holiday.

As a Team Manager with National Debtline you will have the responsibility of managing and coaching a team of 9 Money Advisers. You will have excellent communication skills, written and oral, and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office. You will initially undertake a comprehensive training program in money advice and this together with your excellent managerial skills will ensure you become a key member of the Trust's team.

These positions will involve working 35 hours a week on a rota basis, between 9am and 9pm Monday to Friday and 9.30am to 1pm Saturday.
